Actress Asin may have been a part of several Rs100- crore superhits in Bollywood — Ghajini, Ready, Housefull 2, Bol Bachchan — but the actor insists that she still feels like a newcomer here. “I am yet to do that one film in Bollywood, where I feel I have done justice to my own calibre as an actor. I feel there's more to be tapped in me as an actor than has been done so far,” says Asin. “So I still conside r myself to be a newcomer in Bollywood,” adds the actor who's known to be quite choosy when it comes to her films.
“Yes, I have been criticised by my own friends when I have let go of what seemed like plum projects and even did well later on,” smiles Asin adding that it however did nothing to change her criteria when it came to selecting her films. “I have no regrets about being so selective. If it's doesn't excite me or interest me then it would be unfair on my part to take it up,” she elaborates.
Her criteria, reveals Asin, is only getting interesting roles. “It's great if a heroine-centric role comes along, but it's not that I am only looking at taking those roles. I want to do roles that are well-written, even if they are not revolving around me,” says Asin.
Having worked with actors including Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn... is there a wish list of any more actors? “More than the actors, there are directors who are on my wish-list and that's a long list of names too,” says Asin. Riding high professionally, personally the actor reveals that she's single but not looking to mingle. “As clichéd as it may sound, I am single with no time to mingle. Honestly, where is the time,” quips the actor, who is currently busy shooting for Khiladi 786. But is she a romantic at heart? “Absolutely, I completely believe in love and I think it's a blessing when one finds true love,” smiles Asin.
