It was Prachi Desai's dream to rock (on) with the Big B of B-town, but unfortunately, it remained just that - a dream. Alas!
The boys of 'Bol Bachchan' barged in and had their way. While talking to zoOm, Prachi jokingly revealed, "Initially, the song was supposed to be shot with Asin, Amitji and I; we even had our designer sarees picked out and were all excited for the shoot. But the boys swooped in at the last moment and left us out. They said they didn't want us in the song, and took over." Well, looks like Abhishek must have played his 'Bachchan' card. And as for Prachi, we really hope there's a big one on the cards for her too!
Asin and I went through the same experiences: Poorna
They have many things in common: both are Malayalis who started out their innings in filmdom in Mollywood, but made it big elsewhere. Actress Shamna Kasim aka Poorna, says she and Asin sail in the same boat, when it comes to their respective careers.
"We didn't get to do much in Malayalam. While I did sister roles here before moving to Telugu and Tamil, Asin did Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka and then never came back as she earned name and fame in Kollywood and Bollywood. In fact, both of us got better roles and bigger opportunities in film industries elsewhere," Shamna points out.
However, Shamna, who's coming back to Malayalam after five years with director Santhosh Sethumadhavan's Chattakari, says, "I've been waiting for five years now to get a role as powerful as this to make a comeback. For me, this is the first film in Malayalam where I'll play the heroine. Asin, on her part, has her hands too full now to consider coming back to Mollywood," says Shamna.
Reigning queens of Bollywood
"Reigning queens of Bollywood" - Vidya Balan, Katrina Kaif , Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha and Asin.
Here is bringing to you the reigning queens of bollywood. Much on this list seems the way you'd think they would be — but some things seem a bit strange. For one thing, not all the actors featured here have five films to their credit at all. Sonakshi, for instance, has only two. But the box office results for both those films were so huge, she knocks even more prolific actors out of the top seven ballpark. In much the same way, Asin, who is not perceived as one of the industry's top actors, makes it to this list because some of the films she was in crossed the Rs. 100 cr mark.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh: Asin has been a regular in the R100 cr club. She is a fine actor who has all the potential to be among the top stars.
Director Rohit Shetty: Asin is undervalued as an actor. She is able to mould herself to suit any character. She is a director's actor, and that works in her favour.
