Actor Asin may be busy travelling all over the country to promote her new film, but it's something else other than films that's got her all excited. The actor has apparently been invited by the US Consul General Peter Haas to speak at the second annual Young Change Makers Conclave.
The actor says that she is elated, to say the least, to get an opportunity to speak at this platform, especially since the event was previously graced by speakers like writer and politico, Shashi Tharoor. The event is hosted by the United Nations Information Center for India and the US Consulate, and Asin is all set to add this to her list of achievements. Sources close to the actor say that she is on cloud nine and is spending a chunk of her time prepping up her speech for the event. “Asin wants everything to go well, so she's taking out time from her busy schedule to make sure that her notes are in place and that she makes her near and dear ones proud of her. She has been associated with conclaves and other such initiatives in the past, but this is the first time that it has been of such a high stature,” said the source.
Asin is one of the few actors to have made a successful transition from the South Indian film industry to Bollywood. But that's not enough for her — she definitely wants to be remembered as an intelligent actor,” reveals the source adding that the actor is presently busy juggling two of her films Housefull 2 and Bol Bachchan. “She's actively participating in the promotional activities of the former and is still shooting for the latter directed by Rohit Shetty. The two films are taking up most of her time, but when she got an invitation to speak at this platform, she made sure that she found the time to do so,” says the source.
Asin confirmed that she is very excited to speak at the event. When asked what she intends to wear for it, she said, “I don't know yet, I'll decide on that as the date nears. But I'm not really fussing about the clothes, I'm just honoured to be invited.”
